ABOUT Aidan

I'm Aidan King, a chef and cyclist from Mid Devon. Two Wheels has always been in the family from racing Motocross for 10 years as a kid to switching between MTB and road cycling since 2018.

Things got a lot muddier in 2019 after being hit by a car, I solely focused on MTB, making YouTube and Instagram content along the way. With the furlough coming to an end, we headed into going back to work but also the Southern Enduro season. This was However short-lived and after a training crash in the Forest of Dean led to a snapped collarbone, the MTB shoes got hung up. With other imjuries, concussions and the worry of having bills to pay, it was time to try to regain road confidence, and this decision was the best one I've ever made.

2022 was the year of the comeback, working alongside The Bike Network, I was part of a group of 6 riders and we completed the iconic Lands End to John O Groats in 8 Days and raising £7000 for the charity. This was followed by my first of 2 completed Everestings also raising money for charity.

With some changes in my personal and home life happening at the end of 2022, It meant the full focus was on me and being who I wanted to be going into 2023.

Starting early with some work for ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) including a 24-hour ride, cycling from Exeter to Alton Towers (400km), followed by a couple of Sportives including the Struggle Dales and then another Everesting, but this time being part of a group to try and get the record for the Most Everesting’s done by a group in one event in which I finished 3rd Overall and smashed the 8848m of climbing by 10 Hours over my one in 2022. Finished the year strong with wins in the local Time Trials and the iconic National Hill Climb championships on the struggle in the Lake District.

2024 was the year for endurance riding to be taken up a notch with the goal of a sub 12 hour Mallorca 312, which I completed in 10.5 hours. The Time Trial scene was calling and some good regional results fell alongside winning the local club series overall. Moving on into the year and for the next couple of years, endurance events and big one day races is going to be the steps moving foraward.
