ABOUT Aidan

I'm Aidan King, a chef and cyclist from Mid Devon. Two Wheels has always been in the family from racing Motocross for 10 years as a kid to switching between MTB and road cycling since 2019.

Things got a lot muddier in 2019 after being hit by a car, I solely focused on MTB, making YouTube and Instagram content along the way. With the furlough scheme ending, we headed into going back to work and the Southern Enduro season. This was however short-lived and after a training crash in the Forest of Dean led to a snapped collarbone, the MTB shoes got hung up. With other injuries, concussions and the worry of having bills to pay, it was time to try to regain road confidence, and this decision was the best one I've ever made.

2022 was the year of the comeback. Working alongside The Bike Network, I was part of a group of six riders who completed the iconic Lands End to John O Groats in 8 Days, raising £7000 for the charity. This was followed by my first of two completed Everesting’s, also raising money for charity.

With some changes in my personal and home life happening at the end of 2022, It meant the full focus was on me and being who I wanted to be going into 2023.

Starting early with some work for ELF (Exeter Leukaemia Fund) including a 24-hour ride, cycling from Exeter to Alton Towers (400km), followed by a couple of Sportives including the Struggle Dales and then another Everesting, but this time being part of a group to try and get the record for the Most Everesting’s done by a group in one event in which I finished 3rd Overall and smashed the 8848m of climbing by 10 Hours over my one in 2022. Finished the year strong with wins in the local Time Trials and the iconic National Hill Climb championships on the struggle in the Lake District.

2024 was the year for endurance riding to be taken up a notch with the goal of a sub-12-hour Mallorca 312, which I completed in 10.5 hours. The Time Trial scene was calling and some good regional results fell alongside winning the local club series overall. Moving on into the year and for the next couple of years, endurance events and big one-day races are going to be the steps moving forward.

Moving on into 2025, I started a partnership with CORE Bike Fit, and with his help, I launched AKCCoaching. The purpose of this was for me to be able to offer in-person coaching as much as possible but mainly in terms of testing, consultations and reviews. This soon led to also having the CORE Bike Chat podcast, bringing community and local cycling to YouTube. On a personal level for 2025, I have moved teams to Reflex Nopinz to have more support for my goals and also being able to have support on trying some new events (watch this space), I also signed a contract for 2025 as a Nopinz athlete, bringing personal gains in clothing but also to my clients and friends with a discount with code AIDAN10.
